Suppliers
As a globally active and expanding company with a wide product range, our supply chains are becoming increasingly complex. A close, cooperative relationship with our suppliers is indispensable in being able to make statements about compliance with legal regulations and social standards.
Compliance
All new and existing suppliers are required to recognise the OBO Supplier Code of Conduct and to reinforce the values and principles contained within it in their company and their own supply chain. The OBO Supplier Code of Conduct is based on existing principles and conventions, such as the UN Global Compact, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, as the relevant conventions of the International Labour Organization.
The Supplier Code of Conduct explicitly addresses topics such as human rights, labour standards, occupational health and safety, environmental protection, responsible sourcing of raw materials, business ethics and compliance. In particular, we expect our business partners to reject any form of slavery, forced labour or child labour. We expect them to respect freedom of association and the right to form interest groups, and to ensure fair and appropriate remuneration and support the qualification of their employees. Another important aspect is the commitment of our employees to recognise and practice the above-mentioned values and principles. After all, we can only address sustainability and compliance together.

OBO places an emphasis on social responsibility. Read our Code of Conduct here.
Sustainable delivery traffic
Responsibility across the supply chain
For many years, we have been conducting supplier surveys on the topics of quality management, energy management, environmental management, occupational safety and safety in the supply chain, and evaluating our suppliers based on the results of these surveys. They form the foundation for trusting, responsible collaboration.

Short delivery routes
In all product areas of OBO, we produce a large proportion of products in-house, which puts us in the comfortable and secure position of being able to act independently of suppliers in many cases. This goes hand in hand with our well-stocked warehouses. In Germany alone, we have around 38,000 square metres at our disposal. With respect to sustainability, this means short delivery routes. This helps us to reduce CO2 emissions and to minimise the impact of our delivery traffic on the environment. The storage space is divided across five warehouses:
- Bad Fallingbostel
- Menden
- Delitzsch
- Groß-Rohrheim
- Dasing
This means we can guarantee flexible and rapid delivery capability at all times. Achieving a volume of around 80,000 tonnes per year in Germany, we are constantly on the move – and our trained specialists in the field of logistics ensure that our products are in the right place at the right time. Of course, this also applies in an international context: With 40 subsidiaries in more than 60 countries, we can guarantee customer proximity and short distances on all continents worldwide.

Risk management in the supply chain
To specifically implement sustainability in the area of the supply chain, OBO in Germany works with a due diligence approach that is based on OECD guidelines. The process comprises five stages: risk analysis, identification of focal points and goals, definition and implementation of measures, and monitoring and reporting.
As part of the risk analysis, economic, ecological and social risks are identified and evaluated based on the material group or supplier, then translated into measures to reduce or completely eliminate the potential risks.
