The new fire protection duct PYROLINE® PLMR not only prevents the spread of fire, but also makes it simpler than ever to overcome obstacles during outdoor installations. This is how every installation can be safely managed.

Reliable, robust, ideal for installation outdoors

When there is a fire, the intumescent fire protection mesh of the PYROLINE® PLMR foams up, thereby reliably preventing the spread of fire through the electrical installation. The duct therefore achieves a fire resistance period of 90 minutes. The PYROLINE® PLMR is made of robust, high-quality stainless steel making it particularly suitable for installation in outdoor areas. Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant, rustproof and can also resist extreme temperatures or high levels of humidity. Measuring 120 mm in height and 200 mm in width, the system acts as the ideal interface between neighbouring cable support systems, such as mesh cable trays. All products were switched over to a standardised cover screw connection, making installation even easier using standard tools.

Overcome any obstacle with the matching fittings

The PYROLINE PLMR is suitable for mounting on the FangFix concrete block, which was specially conceived for installation on flat roofs. Particularly during installation in outdoor areas, structural obstacles or obstacles from other systems, such as heating or ventilation pipes or water mains, are often encountered when routing electrical installations. With the PYROLINE® PLMR, these and other obstacles are no problem at all. Matching fittings complement the fire protection duct system and ensure that fireproof cable routing over all common obstacles in outdoor areas can be implemented simply and quickly.

Fire protection in PV systems

Combustible cables may not be run over firewalls without fire protection measures. This is because, in the event of fire, they would spread the fire to the neighbouring roof area. However, individual cases are possible, in which the routing of combustible cables over firewalls cannot be avoided. In these cases, the cables must always be routed in a protected manner. Our solution – PYROLINE® PLMR. The duct can be used as a special solution for the routing of cables over firewalls, in accordance with the surveyor’s report GA-2024/070-Nau dated 15 July 2024. It corresponds to the solutions according to the recommendation of the BMI+AMEV- EltAnlagen 2020 (Section 7.3.3.5 – Photovoltaic systems – fire protection).
