Formula Student Team – OBO supports the further development of the engine test bench
Hailing from Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Stuttgart, the Formula Student Team consists of close to 120 students from the economics, technology and social affairs faculties. Since 2009, each year the Formula Student Team has developed a racing car, which until 2011 was powered by a combustion engine, before the switch was made to an electric motor. The team competes against other colleges across the globe in different events from various disciplines. The design of the racing car reaches new heights in terms of development and performance each year.
To develop its racing car, the team relies on sponsors to support them with products. OBO was impressed by the idea, supporting the development of the engine test bench with a variety of OBO products.
This engine test bench is used to test motors and controls developed in-house for function and performance limits. OBO provides a wide range of products used, on the one hand, to equip workstations and ensure the clean routing of electrical cables on the engine test bench. OBO Deskboxes are used at the workstations in the workshop. With various and small distributors, the test bench is kept organised, while protecting cables and electrical components from damage caused by mechanical impacts. The multi-part installation ducts used enable the spatial separation of cables of different voltages. OBO Bettermann also supports the team with small parts needed to replenish their toolboxes. This includes universal screwless terminals and .
