General building information

The new complex will be called “New Campus” and is being built on a site of 26,000 square metres on behalf of ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE in Unterföhring, near Munich.

The new building of the corporate headquarters will set new standards and represent the state of the art. Overall, it is an outstanding project which is one of a kind.

With a lot of space for creativity, multiple TV studios will be created with the latest production and broadcasting technology, offices and conference spaces, as well as a large courtyard with a landscaped area. Bridges will ensure that the individual building parts are interconnected.

The first building section comprised a reconstructed space of 226,638 m³, and the second section 188,311 m³. In total, 63,000 m³ of concrete and 10,000 tonnes of steel were installed. Here, the products from OBO Bettermann played a major role in ensuring that power and data can flow reliably and safely in the future.

Why did the customer choose OBO products?

Within the whole building, rails, clamp clips, RKS-Magic® cable trays, cable ladders and mesh cable trays were used. Both products for the maintenance of electrical function and for underfloor systems that ensure a flexible power supply are installed in the rooms.

Were special solutions used?

The construction project was planned and controlled via Building Information Modelling, or BIM for short. This software allows planners and architects to visualise and create building models, meaning that planning and construction in 3D are possible.

This means that the products of the OBO world can be integrated directly into the virtual planning. This was only one criterion that won OBO the contract. The high level of quality, which has proven itself over decades, was certainly a further one.

OBO Bettermann is proud to be a part of this special construction project.
