During restoration, town museum takes advantage of OBO Bettermann products

The town museum in Pejačević Palace in Virovitica, Croatia, was comprehensively restored between 2017 and 2019.

The town museum in Pejačević Palace in Virovitica, Croatia, was comprehensively restored between 2017 and 2019. The clients behind the restoration of the historical building were the town of Virovitica and the EU. OBO products were chosen on account of their design and their functionality. Here, floor ducts, floor boxes and the isCon® system from OBO were installed.

Pejačević Palace was originally built between 1800 and 1804 by Antun III, Count Pejačević of Virovitica. It remained the property of the family until 1841. It was bought by the community of Virovitica in 1930 and redesigned, before becoming the town museum in 1953, with collections on subjects such as archaeology, ethnography, culture and history.

During the restoration of the historic Pejačević Palace, the EÜK screed-covered duct system was used. The EÜK system was presented for the first time in 1965 and, since then, has been continually adapted to installation practices. This has made the EÜK system one of the most popular underfloor systems of all. Planners around the world rely on the variety, reliability and flexibility of the system. It has thus been possible to complete countless challenging construction and restoration projects, such as the town museum in Pejačević Palace. Duct sections and underfloor boxes form a tight grid, hidden in the screed, for cable routing. When combined with device installation units, access is given to power, data and multimedia technology. Together with the EÜK system, height-adjustable cassettes and the GES R2 floor sockets from OBO were installed during the restoration of the town museum. The round floor sockets of the GES R2 series supply data and power exactly where they are required. They are an ideal underfloor solution when a discreet appearance, a high load capacity and varied functionality are required, such as in the exhibition areas in Pejačević Palace.
