Project description

DS Smith Paper is a leading manufacturer of sustainable corrugated cardboard material, special papers and high-quality papers for packaging production. With factories across Europe and North America, the company works together with customers around the world. After the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant for the paper factory in Zărnești last year, DS Smith is now working on the construction of a new paper-manufacturing hall here. DS Smith employs over 650 employees here.

General building information

The paper factory in Zărnești is the largest factory for recycled paper in Romania and has a production capacity of 200,000 tonnes, which covers almost half of national paper demand. For DS Smith, sustainability is of major importance. For example, old paper and card collected by the recycling operations of the company is processed into recycled paper in the factory, from where it is forwarded to packaging companies in Romania to produce new packaging products.
